Hey there, My name’s Sam. I joined this awesome team at Beyond the Brand in early 2021. Before that, I was working in the creative sphere as an assistant director, writer and graphic designer. When I got my hands around graphic design though, is where it all came together for me.
I started work in the graphic design field a little over 7 strictly as a favor for a friend who needed some spot illustrations. It was a simple task, that he just didn’t have time for. Being at a job I was not incredibly happy with, and with an abundance of time on my hands, I did the favor.
I started work in the graphic design field a little over 7 strictly as a favor for a friend who needed some spot illustrations. It was a simple task, that he just didn’t have time for. Being at a job I was not incredibly happy with, and with an abundance of time on my hands, I did the favor. This turned me into his go to guy, and I started taking online courses to grow my skillset. As my professional relationship with him grew, we started taking more risks to push our potential to the max. We used our talents in marketing and photography/videography to develop our own brands and social groups. These became our case studies, and was the perfect playground for me to hone my skills.
Being new to the game, I dipped my toes in just about every field. Coming from a passion of drawing, I fell into illustration which shifted to UX/UI design, to logo and branding design which is where I find myself today. The process of logo design and branding checked all the boxes for me professionally. From logistics, placement, and brand planning to designing it all from the ground up always got me up in the morning. The team I’ve found myself in now equally gets my dopamine flowing. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people who are equally passionate about the products they deliver to our great customers.
My dad and I are also pretty avid bikers. In my younger years, there wasn’t much time you could find me off of a motorcycle. His work as an engineer gave me a great opportunity to learn how to fix my toys when they break down too. That’s probably where my curiosity on how things tick came from as well. Off the bike, my friends and I love to camp, hike, and other great activities you can do when you’re in a state that has four seasons (shout out New Hampshire). I also have a sweet old pooch, Abby!
